KARHU STOOL

To celebrate its running history associated with bold footwear colour ways, Karhu wanted to unite with a Finnish brand. Finnish furniture company Artek gave Karhu the opportunity to create a special edition of its design classic, the “Stool 60.” The limited edition version is inspired by Karhu’s recognizable orange and black colour combination.

The stackable, three-legged Stool 60 was first created in 1933 by one of Artek’s founders, Alvar Aalto. Still manufactured in Finland of birch wood, the stool can be stacked to create a spiralling tower of design classics. The limited edition Karhu version has one orange leg with two natural coloured birch legs, and a smooth all black leather seat. A wood burned Karhu bear logo is branded underneath the seat.

The Stool 60 by Karhu releases December 7th, 2018 with a global launch event hosted by Likelihood, a Seattle based retailer combining a passion for fashion, footwear and design. The limited production run of 80 pieces ensures superior quality and exclusive acquisition with remaining units sold at the Karhu Concept Store in Helsinki and on KARHU.COM.

On Friday December 7th, Karhu invites you to look upward in search for the remarkable colour story found in the “Night Sky” Pack. The collection will launch at select retailers worldwide, KARHU.COM and the Karhu Concept Store in Helsinki.
